Some will surely be thinking: “Another week without a prescription?” I can understand that very well and hope you can also understand the reason for it.
But I won't leave you alone, because below I'll show you some delicious impressions from my vacation that I don't want to keep from you.
The trip started in Marbach am Neckar, went via Hamburg to Denmark, and the return journey took us through Bad Rothenfelde near Osnabrück. In the ten days we spent in Denmark, I ate as much shellfish and seafood as I had in the previous twelve months combined. At one point, I was worried about protein overload or too much uric acid in my body. Shrimp, mussels, crabs, fish, and so on were on my plate every day. Everything was so delicious…
Hamburg

On our way through, we stopped in Hamburg. After the obligatory harbor tour on the Elbe and a lovely stroll along the Landungsbrücken (St. Pauli Piers), we went to the Captains Dinner restaurant with its beautiful view of the Elbe. There, we enjoyed a delicious fish platter . It was one of the tastiest I've had in a long time. To finish, we had an exquisite apple strudel with vanilla sauce , and a strong espresso rounded everything off perfectly… What a delicious start to our vacation!
Ribe
Arrived in Ribe…
Restaurant Hotel Dagmar

On our first evening in Ribe , we had dinner at the restaurant of the Hotel Dagmar (Denmark's oldest hotel). Unfortunately, there wasn't much choice for starters, so we ordered our main courses directly. I had a typical Danish fish dish (I've unfortunately forgotten the name), and my husband had a typical Danish dish (which translates to "shooting star") with delicious shrimp, breaded fish, and bread.
Restaurant Saelhund en

At Restaurant Saelhunden, we had incredibly delicious shrimp cocktails as a starter. For our main courses, we each chose a fish dish again. What impressed me most was the constant supply of bread and butter, including several delicious varieties. Even though I'm not usually a big bread fan, I kept helping myself. For dessert, we ordered a delicious strawberry tart and a truly scrumptious applesauce with chestnuts. Absolutely fantastic!
Rømø

We spent a wonderful day on the island of Rømø. First, we strolled along the beautiful North Sea beach and then met up with an acquaintance who lives near Sylt. We not only got to know a lovely person in person, but she also told us about a real hidden gem: a beautiful, yet very secluded café in the open air, where the delicious cakes and pastries are even decorated with flowers. It was truly a beautiful sight, and the pastries tasted absolutely divine.
Fjordkroen

After four days, we left Ribe and drove across the island of Funen to the island of Zealand, to the Hotel Fjordkrön, which is located roughly halfway between Copenhagen and Rødbyhavn. The view of the fjord from our balcony was magnificent, and the hotel truly offered only the finest cuisine, as you can easily see from the pictures. The appetizer of asparagus, shrimp, and hollandaise sauce was a wonderful start. The main course, however, was the highlight. The salmon steak was simply fantastic and so enormous that we had to think carefully about whether we even had room for dessert. My husband, however, always needs something sweet at the end of the meal and indulged in a chocolate cake topped with fruit and vanilla ice cream. Of course, I was allowed to try it too. It was delicious!

Another evening, I ordered lobster soup with seafood, followed by a huge plaice fillet. My husband wanted to find out if the Danes could also prepare meat and ordered a dish of venison medallions garnished with vegetables. Everything was delicious, and we highly recommend the hotel's cuisine.
Bad Rothenfelde

On our way home, we stopped in Bad Rothenfelde near Osnabrück to visit a former colleague. Since we had booked accommodation without breakfast, we followed his recommendation the next morning and had breakfast at Café Cœurchen. The buffet was simply fantastic; we especially enjoyed the wide variety of salads. It was a brunch unlike any we'd ever experienced in a hotel. Afterwards, we set off for home and arrived after a five-hour drive, safe, sound, and still quite full.
