The French version of my book is in... and I can't imagine the journey
Mon livre de cuisine en français is enfin en prévente — et rien que d'écrire ces mots, j'ai des frissons. After several days, there are two main examples in the test, and I always see the details in the details. These retouches, ces choix minutieux, ces adjustments… all this fait partie de this aventure qui m'a portée pendant de longs mois.
In début d'année 2024, I've published the German version of my book… and you'll have the accueillie with the tellement of love. Ce succès m'a portée, encouragée, inspired.
Très vite, une évidence s'est imposée: après la publication de mon livre en alsmand, je devais offerr a version française… en l'honneur de mon Cameroun natal.
This is a simple traduction that is transformed into a passionate chant - and part of it! Mon perfectionnisme, ou devrais-je dire ma quête d'excellence, m'a vite rattrapée: • a detail of design à juster ici, • a photo à refaire là, • a envie soudaine de changer la mise en page, • a new visual for mieux faire honore à nos plats, • et finalement… and Tout new cover, inspired by Ndop , this fabric traditionnel qui raconte mes racines Bamiléké and Bamoun et l'histoire de mon Cameroun.
The photos on these refaites, the recettes réécrites, chaque texture et chaque color repensées. The book demands the lessons in cuisine, the essays, the advice, the réussites, the patience… and beautiful emotions. You can also say that you have a heart full of gratitude:
- Tout cela en valait la peine.
- A book is not, fashioned with passion, fierté and profondeur.
- A book that celebrates our savers, our colors, our traditions.
It tells you what you're in between the cuisines, what you're looking for in the souvenirs, what the new traditions are in the foyers.

The French version of my book is finally here… and I never could have imagined this journey
My French cookbook is finally available for pre-order—and I get goosebumps just writing these words. I've had my proof copy in my hands for a few days now, and I'm still fine-tuning the last little details. These retouches, these careful decisions, these adjustments… all of this is part of this journey that has carried me for many months.
In early 2024, I published the German version , Cameroonian & West African Recipes … and you received it with so much love. This success has sustained, encouraged, and inspired me.
It soon became clear to me: After the publication of my book in German, there had to be a French version — in honor of my home country Cameroon.
But what was supposed to be a simple translation quickly turned into a passionate—and sometimes slightly crazy—major project! My perfectionism, or rather my drive for excellence, quickly caught up with me: • a design detail here that needed adjusting, • a photo there that I completely remade, • a spontaneous idea for a new layout, • a visual approach that better showcases our dishes, • and finally… a completely new cover, inspired by Ndop , this traditional fabric that speaks of my Bamiléké and Bamoun roots and carries the story of my Cameroon.
Photos were retaken, recipes rewritten, every texture and color rethought. This book demanded hours in the kitchen, many trials, minor setbacks, beautiful successes, patience… and an incredible amount of emotion. But today I can say it with profound gratitude:
All of this was worth it. A book has been created, imbued with passion, pride, and depth. A book that celebrates our flavors, our colors, our traditions.
“Recettes camerounaises et d'Afrique de l'Ouest”: more than a book – an invitation into my kitchen
In this new work, I wanted to capture the essence of what makes our kitchens so strong and unique: – authentic, family recipes , – tips and secrets passed down from generation to generation, – vivid anecdotes that bring each dish to life, – and valuable information about our ingredients and spices — these treasures that give our food its soul.
I have poured my heart, my story, my identity… my soul into this book. And I can't wait for it to find its way into your kitchens, awaken memories, and spark new traditions in your families.
The big day is approaching…
Today I am proud — deeply proud — to present to you Recettes camerounaises et d'Afrique de l'Ouest in its brand new French edition.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for your support. Thank you for keeping the "chez nous" kitchen alive. This book is a part of me… but also a tribute to all of us.
