Suya is a very popular street food in West Africa. The secret of suya is its typically spicy, nutty, and very tasty spice blend, the kankan.
Ingredients
6tablespoonsroasted peanuts
1/2tspcayenne pepper(or more for those who like it spicy)
1tsppaprika powder
1tsponion powder
1tspgarlic powder
1tbspginger powder
1tspsalt
Instructions
Place all ingredients in a mortar or a dry mixer/coffee grinder and grind into a powder.
Notes
My tip for you: You can make a larger batch of the spice mix, freeze it in small portions, and have it on hand whenever you need it. It also goes wonderfully with other meat dishes.As an alternative to peanuts, you can use cashew nuts.Bon appetite!Fadi♥
