Absorption time 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 medium pineapple
  • 2 ripe mangoes
  • 1 medium-sized papaya (slightly crisp)
  • 1 lime (juice and grated zest)
  • A few fresh mint leaves (optional)

Instructions

  • Wash the pineapple, papaya, and mango thoroughly. Peel the pineapple, remove the hard core, and cut the flesh into bite-sized pieces. Peel and deseed the papaya and cut it into pieces as well. Peel the mangoes and dice the flesh.
  • Wash the lime thoroughly, squeeze out the juice, and finely grate some of the zest. The lime juice adds a refreshing acidity, and the zest adds a slightly more intense citrus flavor.
  • Place the prepared fruit in a large bowl. Pour the lime juice and grated lime zest over the fruit.
  • Mix everything together well so that the lime juice and flavors are evenly distributed. Cover the fruit salad and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least half an hour to allow the flavors to develop.
  • The salad can be garnished with a few fresh mint leaves, which gives it a fresh note not only visually, but also in terms of taste.

Notes

  • Optionally, 1 tablespoon of honey or agave syrup can be added to intensify the sweetness if the fruit is not sweet enough.
Mixing in freshly grated ginger (or ground ginger) adds a pleasant spiciness that harmonizes well with the sweetness of the fruit.
  • You could also add other fruits like strawberries, kiwi or oranges to achieve even more colors and flavor nuances.
  •  To make the fruit salad even more refreshing, you can serve it in a chilled glass or on ice, especially on hot summer days.
  • If you want an even more exotic experience, you can also add some passion fruit.
Bon appetite
