Rinse the strawberries with cold water, remove the green tops, cut the strawberries lengthwise into 2 or 4 pieces (depending on size), and place them in a bowl
Add sugar and (optionally) a few drops of lemon or lime juice, mix well and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least half an hour
Then place in small bowls, serve with freshly whipped cream or whipped cream from a can, and enjoy chilled. If desired, you can also enjoy the strawberries with 1-2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. This enhances the cooling effect, especially in summer.
